Now You’re Free Available Today!

Hi Everyone.

I’m THRILLED to let you guys know that Now You’re Free is officially out today.

1. It’s my first full length album as a solo artist.
2. It’s the best batch of songs to date.
3. This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for years.
4. I’m touring with a band again.
5. I want you to share it with your friends.
6. Please let me know what you think!

If you like what you hear, please use the tools you have to spread the word. A Facebook post, a Tweet, a blog, a YouTube cover…whatever you like. No amount of publicity or radio play can hold a candle to the power of fans talking and passing the word along. I will do everything in my power to keep giving you great music. The fans keep it alive.

I hope to see you at some of my upcoming April shows in the Southeast! The band and I will be sure to play new tunes from the album!

Cheers.
MM.

Welcome to the New Hub

Howdy.  Welcome to the new hub.  I tried to splurge on the ‘laser light’ design package that was more or less a Def Leppard show on your computer screen, but it was too pricey.

:(

Either way–I’m stoked to have a new record, new tour dates, a new store, and a new bio (written by yours truly).  Please feel free to poke around and see what you think.  We’ll be adding a bunch of content over the next few months, so if you like what you see–pass it on to a friend.

*Just remember, if I get enough hits, I can upgrade to ‘laser light’.  You won’t be sorry.

Cheers,
MM

April Tour and Album Release Announcement

So I want to have flamethrowers, cage dancers, and guitar pick bazookas on the upcoming tour, but my management keeps saying unreasonable things like ‘the venues are too small’ and ‘you don’t have that kind of money’ and ‘you’re an idiot’.

WHATEVER.

Regardless of their lack of vision, I’m getting on the road this Spring with a new record, a new band, and some new ideas. We’re excited about getting out and playing the new tunes as well as some old favorites for you guys. The record is called ‘Now You’re Free’ and it comes out on April 5th. I love it. I hope some of you will as well.

It was impossible to pass up the opportunity to release some advanced copies — so the Workplay show in Birmingham on March 27th will be a pre-release party of sorts. We’ll have hard copies of the record available exclusively at that show — so I hope some of y’all can make it!

Roll ‘em out. Here are the dates:

Mar 25 – Opelika, AL – 8th & Rail
Mar 26 – Tuscaloosa, AL – Druid City Arts Festival
Mar 27 – Birmingham, AL – Workplay (CD Release Show)
Mar 29 – New Orleans, LA – Wolf’s Den – The Howlin’ Wolf
Mar 30 – Seaside, FL – Seaside Amphitheater
Apr 5 – Atlanta, GA – Atlanta Room @ Smith’s Olde Bar – OFFICIAL CD RELEASE DAY
Apr 6 – Nashville, TN – 3rd & Lindsley
Apr 7 – Charlotte, NC – The Double Door
Apr 9 – Knoxville, TN – Preservation Pub (Supporting The Black Cadillacs)
Apr 12 – Atlanta, GA – Eddie’s Attic
Apr 13 – Columbia, SC – White Mule

Apr 19 – Atlanta, GA – Eddie’s Attic (Acoustic)
Apr 20 – Nashville, TN – 3rd & Lindsley (Acoustic)
Apr 21 – Charlotte, NC – The Double Door (Acoustic)
Apr 23 – Oxford, MS – The Blind Pig

See you very soon.

Happy Holidays from Matthew

Friends–

Just wanted to send a quick note and tell you how grateful I am for all the support in 2010. All 5 EPs were a success and the full length is mixed and will be released this Spring.

Also–in the spirit of the holidays, here’s some free, unreleased music I hope you enjoy. They’re the original worktapes–straight from my voice recorder. I know it’s super raw, but sometimes that’s the best way to listen. Hope you enjoy.

Cheers!
